AJCLA General Update - LSD, CACC Conferences, Summer Events, and Dues Payments to Remain an AJCLA Member

Hello AJCLA Members,

We look forward to seeing our colleagues at the LSD Conference scheduled for June 18-19, 2024. Due to the Oilers inspiring playoff run, and the schedule for the Stanley Cup final, the AJCLA will not be holding an event during the Conference this year. However, we do plan to hold social events in the summer in both cities. We hope to see you there, and will send further details as to those events when available.

Two members of our Executive will also be attending the Canadian Association of Crown Counsel Spring Conference this year in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Salary Information and the Salary Grid

Hello AJCLA Members,

With the recent communication regarding our raises and pay parity with the Crown prosecutors, and the updating of salaries in 1GX, the AJCLA is looking for individual Members to provide information, to our general email account at albertajcla@gmail.com, regarding salaries (and any issues you might consider to be present with your new salary). Despite the welcome news of these salary increases, there still appears to be a lack of clarity and confusion surrounding the applicable salaries for different steps within the Legal Officer classifications, other than on an individual basis. It is expected, however, that we have much, if not all, of this information within our own Membership.

Any personal information related to the below will be kept confidential and not further disseminated. The purpose of this request for information is to create our own salary chart to determine the rates that different members are being paid…
